Alison Dawes has organised the show jumping since the birth of the Country Fair. She has massive experience in the field having been a member of the British Show Jumping team in the 1960/70’s. She was in two World Team Championships, winning in 1965 and 1967. She was the only lady rider to win the Hickstead Derby twice and also won the Queen Elizabeth cup twice. In addition to this impressive record, Alison won 11 Grand Prix and was a member of the British Olympic Team in Mexico 1968.

Alison’s aim has always been to have a high standard of jumping at the fair to provide the public with an entertaining spectacle and has regular appearances by top international riders with young horses, showing aspiring competitors how easy it can be when you ride correctly!
